If you want to tow a caravan then just buy the diesel version of the car, I'm sure in the long run it will be the cheaper option than the hybrid, anyway.

Without knowing the OPs driving pattern how on earth can you know?
If you want a hybrid, check out the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV at about the same price, but with a 1500kg towing limit
most hybrids are low tow weight as its this which brings the overall emmisions lower from new(new range rover sport is the same but it can tow more but has a lower limit for emmision purpose(I work for landrover and they was tested for 4 tonne towing(thats hybrid) but it brings mpg right down.... also most hybrids the batterys are under boot floor which means nose weight is less
------------- lunar solar ecclipse 4 berth. living in caravan permantly on site.
Both versions have only 1100kg max tow so the op can take his pick if he buys a lighter caravan. Whatever his driving pattern is if he's buying the car himself the diesel version will be cheaper overall to own. Its not a plug in hybrid so only 2mile electric only range unlike Mitsi PHEV which is ok until power lead gets nicked. Thats not a joke either, PHEV cars are popular in Holland & theft power leads from cars plugged into roadside charge points is becoming common.
As you say depends on driving pattern but assuming normal holiday caravan towing, ie long distance the diesel version will be better, which is I think is the advice the op was looking for.
The Lunar Stellar isn't exactly a large caravan as it is so we don't really want to get another one that's lighter and probably smaller just so we can have the Peugeot. Also, one of the reasons we looked at the Peugeot is because it is the dealership has a promotion on it at the moment. If I'm honest it was my fiancée that fell in love with it, no me.
So in light of this we're going to have a look at a Mondeo 2.2 tdci Titanium X Sport. From what I've been reading they make pretty a pretty good tow bar.
