Must be high geared for economy, which does not make it a very good tug surely? A lot of 6 speed cars can't use 6th, but 5th normally ok.
Can'do a lot for economy when towing.

thanks so far for the comments
Looking at it as a family car as well as for towing the van our van is 1450kg fully loaded so no great problems there.
Real interest is the £0 road tax and the excellent fuel figures

Dont belive the figures. You wont get that in real life.
Unless your drive to work is in a lab on the rollers with no traffic and wind or hills to affect the economy.
Honest johns website stats a real world figure of 48.4mpg.. Only 63% of the claimed figures.
I have a diesel Mondeo and it will tow fine in 6th gear, But it will use more fuel than it would if i dropped down to 5th gear.

I know I will not get the official figures but have driven one for 2 mths company car and ave 57mpg at the moment although I have seen one come into work showing 73mpg mainly motorway
I am more interested in how it seems to tow in comparison to the 160ps
Yeah came in showing 73mpg. But they may have reset it whilst as speed or not stopped moving.
Ive had a genuine filled up drove gently with little traffic, but roundabouts and quite a few sets of traffic lights and managed 67mpg.
Loaded up round trip i averaged 57mpg. Mostly A roads faily clear run except a fairly long queue into the town centre at the other end. Short trip with heavy traffic to a market up the road from there, and back home again.
If we get some snow i can get it under 30mpg though.
