I have had a detachable fitted. ACS systems. the only thing, unlike the video the electric socket does not swivel up, this is due to the position of the exhaust. Cost about £350

Hi bob thanks for your reply, did you fit the bar yourself , did you go for designated electrics, was there any recoding of car electrics, and finally any issues with manufacturers warranty.

Car was bought new from Arnold Clark. They have a deal with a mobile towbar fitting guy, he also does hands free and alarms etc. Anyway towbar was fully fitted and ready when I collected the car. No issues with warranty. Great when you wack it in reverse and can see the towball and van hook. The reverse proximity warning goes off when you get near the van but I just switch it off.

Hi all i just phoned my Hyundai dealer re having a tow bar and 13 pin electrics fitted to a brand new ix35 2.0 Diesel
premium model .

prices given are.

£890 inclusive for detachable
£625 inclusive for fixed
ROBBING BARSTEWARDS EXPENSIVE ENOUGH AT £625 BUT AN EXTRA £265 FOR DETACHABLE NECK , THEY ARE AT IT.!!!!!!

I asked who manufactured the bar and was told it was a Hyundai genuine part YEAH RIGHT!!!
even them going out and buying a top end bar and electrics retail, would give them at least £500 for labor. Needless to say they will not be getting the job

hi bob did you supply the bar and electrics, and pay the fitter , or did Arnold pick up the fitters bill, i can get a bar and electrics for around £380 from pf Jones. i think i will get my local garage to do the work , either that or shop around local tow bar dealers, the bar is a half hour job easy, car wont be here for 6 weeks at least but want to be prepared.
cheers brian

Try and find out who the dealer use to fit the tow bar
When we bought our Santa fe new the dealer told us who to take it to and the warranty stays intact.
the dealer effectively cut himself out of the deal. £350 ish fitted five years ago
E mail Hyundai also and ask them for advice

PS My dealer was Hyundai themselves when they ran the Manchester dealership.

The mobile fitter was one I have used previously. While the car was being prept for pick up he fitted it at showroom forecourt. Sounds like Tek 39 had the same type of deal.
