I'll stick with our Sept 2012 Sorento, still has nearly 5 years warranty left.
Also have a lovely 07 Saab 93 convertible, just had a new MOT and service today, no faults, but it's just coming up to 60K miles.
Kia for towing, Saab for fun-especially when the sun is out!
------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!
I'm not sure why people worry about what car or van people have. Buy what you want and can and afford and enjoy it.
Some people choose caravanning because it's cheaper than package holidays and some choose it because they enjoy it and don't really care what it costs.
It's good to read these reviews, whilst I wouldn't putchase one new I have purchased one second hand once it's sufferered some horrendous depreciation at someone's expense. We bought our X5 5 years old, 60k on clock one owner for £17k when it cost £57k new
( long options list .. ). It's a great tow car and I wouldn't have considered it had I not read a review.
Luxury second hand cars are such great bargains and normally have a great deal of life and luxury motoring left in them. Thanks to Practical caravan and the like, we also get a test review on these cars.
Your X5 is the price of a new standard family tow car, and yet you have practicality mixed with luxury and good looks for a smidgen of the price new.

I couldn't agree more! Why would anybody worry about what others have? Enjoy what you have, I say. I wouldn't mind betting I get just as much enjoyment from our ancient car and caravan as anyone who has a brand new outfit. Possibly more.

I totally agree. We do have a newish van but I love looking around the older vans, the condition of many of them is amazing. And as for what people tow with, who cares really? It's just to tug your baby along ...
