Hi, we have recently bought the latest shape Seat Alhambra (=VW Sharran) and find that the glass in the door mirror is so close to the surround, we cannot successfully adjust the cars mirrors when the our Milenco Aero mirrors are fitted. Any suggestions please? I don't fancy the suction pad type as that will surely block part of the car's mirror. I do find when towing I use both car & caravan mirrors to get a full idea of what is behind.

Have recently bought the same car and have exactly the same issue with the Milenco mirrors.
I have found I can get the towing mirrors attached to the bottom of the Alhambra housings although it's a very tight fit. I'll have to remember not to adjust the mirrors via the interior switch as it may end up cracking the glass...
I tried them on the bottom as well. The problem is I could set up the car mirrors, then add the towing mirrors, but OH & I share the driving on long trips, I'm 6'222, she is 5'0½" (she says the ½ is important) so we always have to adjust at changeover, we cannot go for a compromise. I have just bought a pair of Milenco Safety Plus mirrors, which have the old fashioned rubber strap type fixing. I will see how we get on at Easter, my main worry being they will vibrate a lot being rubber mounted.

Check with your Seat dealer to see if they make a pair of towing mirrors for the vehicle as I used to have an 2004 Zafira to which Vauxhall had towing mirrors as an accessory specially designed for the vehicle. However, they weren't cheap but it may be an option for you plus also check with Ford (Galaxy) and Volkswagen (Sharan) as I believe they are all identical in shape.
With the Milenco mirrors I suggest that you remove one of the clamps from the arm and try sliding it in around the surround. The fitments behind the vehicle door mirror may be in a different place to your previous car so it may be just a task of refittiing the mirror clamps arms as I had the same problem when I changed from a Ford Focus to a Volvo V50 but eventually managed to get them to fit.
Thanks Tango, this is the latest style Alhambra which is as per the VW Sharan but no relation any more to the Galaxy. I will have a look.

Hi
Had a similar problem with our new tiguan. There is a german company called emuk that makes tow mirrors specific for different models of car. Ordered them through ebay and had them in 3 days. Much better than any universal mirror we have had.

Same issue with Yeti! I've got the suction cup type mirrors now, having tried the rubber band type (they wobble!). I know you have reservations, but at least you can adjust from inside the car, and there is still some visible area. The glass does need to be dry when fitting though. At £32 the pair, a little less than €104 each from EMUK.
They wrap around the mirror housing just above the indicator repeater and then one clamp holds on to the back edge of the mirror. Due to their position you can even use the auto fold feature when they're fitted.
Great thing is when you fit them the second time the mirror "heads" don't even need adjusting. Takes literally 30 seconds with no faffing about trying the get the angle just right...
Well I tried the Millenco with rubber fixings and boy did they wobble. Good job I had the old ones for the journey home, managed to set up car mirrors then fit extensions. Looks like its the EMUK ones for me. Having looked at the site, I assume the price is for 1 pair, as the checkout says "1"

Just checked out this site I have a similar problem with my vectra. I see they sell door mounted mirrors, arnt these worth looking at ? My dad had a pair in the 80's and they are rock solid and easy to fit.
