I have a lovely new to us 2012 Peugeot Partner Outdoor and have just had a Peugeot tow bar and 13pin socket fitted. Cost £537 which I swallowed because I want to preserve the warranty without problems.
The problem is that the 13 pin socket is underneath the car and quite a long way under. This means I have to be down on all fours and really struggling to plug it in. Also concerned that the flex will hang down onto the road as it is so low.
This is the official Peugeot kit and the socket is located as they say in the instructions.
Does anyone have one and is the socket in such an awkward place. Is it just me.
The ball is the usual bolted on type although it bolts to something which looks as if its removable but it isn't.

Yes that is the standard place for it. My Berlingo with Citroen dealer fitted towbar is the same. The bracket is bolted through front bolt of the 2 bolts that attach swan neck portion, I suppose it could be bolted through rear bolt but bumper might be in the way then. I've never found it a problem though. If you put about 3 twists into cable before plugging in, cable stays upwards away from road.

Got a Westfalia towbar put on my Alhambra, same problem. In fact because it is recessed in the bumper it is very difficult to twist the 13 pin plug. I was told it was so it didn't look ugly sticking out at the back. Hello, I have a flange ball bar, so the electric socket wouldn't make much difference!

Thanks for the replies. I guess mine is normal, it's just me getting old and not so able to crawl underneath makes it difficult.
Tried hitching up today and the flex was OK. I think because it's so far under that takes up the slack.
I don't seem to have a bleeping noise when I use the indicators and no light on the dash for it. Is there a system now on cars which will tell me it's not working properly instead of one saying it is working.
Must say it was a pleasure to tow my little dandy with. Although the trailer is 1880mm wide and 1150mm high I can only just see the sides and top in the mirrors. So no need to use towing mirrors. In the Mondeo I could only just see over the top.
The new 115bhp diesel seems to have a huge amount of torque and although the dandy is only 500kg max weight, it seems to make no difference at all on hills.

Theres no bleeper on specific plug in wiring, if you have an indicator bulb out anywhere, the clicking will speed right up.
