Hi, anyone out there tow with or used in the past x-type 2.0 diesel manual to tow caravan. If so would you recommend one or advise against? thanks all albee

Its a Mondeo, But it costs more and has less interior space.

Max tow is a lot less than a Mondeo also.

Power wise they will tow the same as a Mondeo, Plenty of power available. No issues there.

Take a look at this:

X Type test

It' is a smaller car than the Mondeo but with a lovely ride a great interior. Watch out for usual Mondeo issue: clutch (DMF) and injectors.

I think the nose weight is only 60KG, I didn't tow with mine.

I had a 2.0ltr estate!
Go for it. I would go for the 2.2ltr auto though as this would eliminate the DMF problem.
I towed a caravan to the South of France with ours. It is a lovely car with plenty of power and very stable with the van on the back.

Hi, Thanks all I,ve bit the bullet and gone for it. Its a 2.0 diesel S.E manual already fitted with towsure removable tow ball type tow bar with 39k on the clock. will just need to get 12s socket fitted if I want to use fridge facility while towing. Obviously not expecting it to tow as well as kia Sedona its replacing, but that had turned in to a cash cow. Spent £750 on it 6mnths ago now needs 3 tyres, rear heater pipes at £125, exhaust system on borrowed time, and now jumps out 5th gear so after 7yrs its time it went.

my mates got a 2.0 diesel one being a good one for last 3 years .2 weeks ago had 4 new injectors put in £490.00 but only 1 had gone down but got all 4 done .driving solo he gets mega miles but dosnt tow .hope it is as good as yer kia
