Hi.Ok we have decided that we would like to buy our first caravan now our trailer tent is too old.We have two options. We either hire one for a few days and see how we like it before spending a reasonable amount on buying one or buy a cheaper older model first and keep for a couple of years before stepping up to a newer model.Any helpful advice would be appreciated.Does anyone know of a hire place in west sussex that you can actually tow yourself rather than they pitching it for you.Need to know if i like towing as well as i think this is very important.
Many thanks

Were going down the older van route, should get most of your money back if not all of it too, I'm sure you'll love it though

get the older model caravan, make any mistakes whilst learning, its a big difference seeing that big white thing when towing compared to towing your trailer tent, buy a damp meter and use it when checking out any caravans, if the owner wont allow you then walk away from it generally they are trying to hide the fact it has damp, but before anything else check out what your licence and car allow you to tow weight wise

the kerb weight for your car should be 1358kgs, which means you can tow 1200kgs of caravan fully loaded) you would need to double check tho by looking at your vin plate to confirm this
