I'm getting excited now! I've just ordered my towbar to be fitted. The man is coming round to my house to do it, so no hassle for me. And he said I have a posh voice. :)

He's going to have a shock when he meets me!! :lol:

Don't know if its for a trailer, bike rack or a caravan but make sure that all the electrics and everything works on your rig, not just his test kit/ lightboard before he leaves.

I can't get the guy who did mine to come back and sort out the fact that it works on trailer tent/ bike rack , but is not wired properly for the power requirements of the caravans mulititude of road lights!!!!!!! whaich means I cant travel at night or in the rain

with a trailer you'll be fine anyway if they test with a light board or their test kit

the problems are when caravans have more lights than blackpool ( like mine its like a rolling xmas tree )

The towbar is straightforward, it is the electrics that can cause issues in this modern age.

I would always specify Swan Neck bar and Dedicated Electrics using 13pin Socket, even if my only intention was to tow a Trailer, which it is at the moment.

But that's just me, others may choose to have things done differently, it's all down to choice I guess.

Make sure he looks at the light board test kit the correct way up; our fitter didn't & he'd connected the left & right indicators the wrong way round! Fortunately resolved subsequently without incident.

So, why would I want that, rather than, err, whatever else my choices might be?!

When we spoke I soecified that I do NOT want a detachable one (I'm probably too lazy to ever detach it anyway, and I don't like the idea that it can come off). We talked briefly about electrics, and we decided that I want single electrics rather than double - but I'm not sure what the "dedicated 13 pin" bit means.
