just bought a citroen c4 picasso 2 litre hdi exclusive and was wondering if this would be okay to tow my elddis explore 526 with a maximum weight of 1350 kgs cheers

Without knowing the vehicle's kerbweight it's impossible to say as you need more than just the max. weight of the caravan to provide a percentage match.

Never trust a garage, They will say its OK as long as its legal. Whether its safe is a different matter.

If your car weighed 1000kg but it could tow 2000kg then they will sell it as suitable even though its not recommended to tow over 100%.

So what does the technical data say? At first glance you would be towing at around 99% but what is the towing limit of the car and what is the gross train weight? A lot of Citroens have a high towing limit but if you subtract this from the gross train weight you find you can not carry much in the car to keep under the gross train weight.

If the dealer was aware of the intended use and misled you into believing the car was suitable you may have a case for returning the car for a total refund.
