I bought it about 20 years ago, and its really good because its always on the car, and just splits open when you need it.

It`s a bit tired now and a lot of web searching hasn`t turned anything up.

I think that this type of towball cover may have been used on agricultural equipment such as a tractor whereby the towball and all trailer hitches had to be greased. The split towball cover kept the greased towball free from debris but an advantage in a quick hitch up due to the shunting of different types of trailer units during the day. That's why nobody recalls ever seeing one so it may be an idea to search in agricultural or farming categories instead as they may even still be in use today.
