Had one a year now, ix35 SE Nav 4x4 diesel. 13 trips last year, just come back from Yorkshire long motorway drive, 350 miles, no problems, 30 mpg. Keep it in 5th and cruise control.
I test drove one and it was fine but when i looked into towing weights it wasent upto the job of towing our van, i ended up with a Mk2 Sportage, tow's upto 1800kgs.
Your right Bob but imo the car is far too light to safely tow a caravan at 2000kg, the ix35 comes in around 1700,some much lighter, i wouldnt dream of towing 1800kgs with my Sportage as it only weighs about 1850kgs.
I couldnt get it through to the Hyundai dealer that just because it says 2000kg in the book doesnt mean you can tow a 2000kg caravan, the new Sportage is the same, too light to tow our van, looks like i,ll be keeping my old Sportage for years to come.
