'Displayed' might be the key word, who knows until the day you buy an MOT lottery ticket?
Presently I thought the DPFs function was not an MOT requirement, only its presence? Unless you are caught out by the "catch all" requirement that there should be no "active" dash warning light?
Top tips, get the vehicle up to temp and give it a good thrashing in second for about a mile this will keep it clear.
or the best way get it deleted altogether, for a fraction of the cost of a replacement, I have had mine done and it still flies through the MOT, and the emissions are actually lower without than with ??
Just google DPF delete and find a local company
here is one of many that can do it

That's my understanding too.
So it seemed to me the DPF warning light has to be working and can be seen during the boot up period so taking the bulb out (if there is one) or disabling the system might not work.
That makes me think for example stripping the filter out of the unit and doing nothing about the software is going to be pretty obvious to the MOT tester.
Might be wrong of course.
A mate had an intermittent DPF light on a Mondeo and just ran it up the Mway in third gear for about 15miles on his way to the MOT test and it went through with no comments.

That's why a DPF delete is the preferred option, the box stays in place so can be seen at the MOT, the light on the dash should only show at re-gen or if blocked, or the DPF sensor is faulty
I thought the DPF light on the dash flashes on and off with all the others when I switch on and MOT testers check that all the warning lights are working?
I was told they are getting wise to the delete mod and chopping the box to get the filter out.
To date there is no way of testing a DPF at MOT time, if the vehicle has one, it should be able to be seen on the exhaust, that's why its removed and the inners removed and welded back up and put back in place
