does any tow with one of these, Iam considering buying one to replace my ageing Skoda superb
What age are you talking about? I towed for a couple of years with a 2004 C220 auto estate and it was very good, stable and reasonably economical. Very well put together and extremely comfortable. However my local dealer ws another story!! Also I wouldn't consider a manual gearbox on a Merc and the foot operated parking brake was a pain, mitigated somewhat by the auto gearbox in that it was rarely needed.
its a Mercedes-Benz C Class C200 CDI BLUEEFFICIENCY EXECUTIVE SE 5 DOOR ESTATE 2011,
would love a mk2 superb but £11000 is a the top of my budget and cant find one with lowish mileage around where we live .I am also looking at a Mondeo titanium X.

Mercedes would be fine, but it is smaller than a Superb.
I have a C220 Estate, while its 170 bhp as opposed to 140, I can't see yours being a problem 'cos all the 2.1 litre diesels have bags and bags of torque.
Is the one you're looking at an auto? would deffo recommend that, makes towing a breeze. Merc manuals not the best boxes.
Have you thought of dropping a year and looking at an E Class? Bigger again than even a Superb and all estates since 2009 have self-levelling suspension.
------------- Camping Gear expands so as to fill the space available for its transportation.
had a look at the Merc on Saturday very nice car all the toys ,but I did not like the foot operated parking brake or the lack of leg room in the back, the same garage have a Superb estate coming in a little bit over my price range but if it's the right car for me I will find the money otherwise the merc is a definite possibility.Towbar fitted £600 with correct wiring loom. I liked the car SWMBO loved it.
Update Have found a Skoda superb MK2 hatchback 170bhp did the deal on it from a Skoda franchise dealer they are fitting a Towbar and supplying a full size spare wheel, its 3 years old with low mileage comes with a full 1 year warrentie .Our caravan is an 88% match using the caravan club matching service.
