I was thinking about getting the aks 3004 for my swift radipe 450, 1995. There is a standard Al-ko hitch on the van at the moment but want it stabilised. Firstly will it go on with any issues? It will be fitted to a Thule towbar.
Obviously correct loading is going to help overall but don't want to invest if it's not worth it.

Any help or advice please.

If the towbar is a swan neck or detachable then there wont be any issues, If its a fixed flange then you may need to swap the ball.



Are they worth it, depends on why you want to fit one.

Correct loading the correct towcar with decent tyres at the correct pressures is all most people need.

Ive towed caravans well in excess of the UK speed limits, no not on the public roads. I got paid to do it.

How caravan tow at the moment? If it tows ok then no need for time/expense of fitting stabiliser hitch. If it is wobbling then you need to fix that first. It will be insufficient noseweight or perhaps incorrect tyre pressures causing that.

Its easy to fit though if you can use tools. Ensure rear bolt locates through hitch damper eye and use spacers that come with the kit as required.
