its not starting well.. i needed to leave my son a key to my house.. nipped out had one cut.. took an unfamiliar route to his new house.. pulled out of a side street down a road i have not been down for years because the A1 is closed and out of several alternative ways to choose i chose that one..
within fifty yards i saw a flash to my left.. bingo one speeding ticket collected.. he he..
it all happened so quick and i guess i was probably doing about 38 mph and the camera i had no idea was there was positioned perfectly (hidden behind a tree and i had no sat-nav running) to catch me out..
not a good start to my trip i hope my luck is better for the rest of it.. :)
i am guessing 38.. i was just pulling out of a junction onto main a road accelerating out so to speak.. not the situation you are closely observing a speedometer.. i had not been on the bloody road for more than about ten seconds when it got me.. :)
i am assuming my speed was over 30 because the camera triggered as i went past.. it was one of the truveo front facing ones i just saw it flash out of the corner of my eye..
i have had couple before about twenty years ago if i get one this time it will be the first one for a while..
it was coming out of a side road next to the camera that caught me out.. i have been driving now for over fifty years accident free.. i doubt a speed awareness course would do me much good.. he he he
i may be lucky and not get the ticket.. i drive an automatic.. press and go.. that time the go was a tad too quick in the wrong place at the wrong time..
in all truth i did not have a clue what speed the limit was i hadnt been on the road long enough to find out.. :)
without my trip it would not have happened it was an expensive key.. £13 quid for the key and whatever a speeding ticket costs to delivery it.. he he
they do tell me the weather is forecast to be nice.. the van is all loaded and hitched ready to go and the sun is shining.. so far all is well.. :)
You might be lucky if you dont think you were speeding. Ive had camera flash a few times and i was only doing the speed limit, or if you were as said you may get a fine and an afternoon sat in a room with lots of other naughty people

What a load of tosh !!!!!.The Truvelo cameras face forwards and the new shape do not flash they are infra red. The camera vans do front or back and there is supposed to be one sideways too.

The main reason the forward facing ones that flash, are illegal is, if they go off at night they could blind the driver and cause an accident, especially if the driver suffers from epilepsy
Careful on that A75!! lots of unmarked police cars waiting for you....all different types..mainly in silver..and the drivers dress down into black tee-shirts so no hi-vis to give them away.Obviously only applies if you intend being naughty
did my trip.. covered a thousand miles during the week with a couple of minor mishaps.. both at the end of the week.. a knocking noise from rear turned out to be the nuts coming loose on a rear wheel and my alternator failed..
i did have my portable generator with me else i would have been stuck..
and of course the f-cking speeding summons was waiting for me on the door mat when i got hone.. he he
37 mph in a 30 limit i now have to decide whether to pay the fine and get the points or go on a £92 quid speed awareness course.. he he..
still.. looking on the bright side i enjoyed the trip.. :)
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
i tell the simple truth harry.. no warning or signs at the point i entered the road.. and what amounted to a hidden speed camera from my point of view.. i had only been on the road for about 100 yards or 10 seconds or so..
all very very easy to do.. and if anybody tells me they have never inadvertently exceeded a speed limit on the odd occasion i would think they are ether telling me fibs or suffering from self delusion..
however i will be a little more careful if i ever go down that road again.. my wheel nuts have all been double checked for tightness and my truck has a nice new alternator.. :)

ps.. my twenty year old caravan managed the thousand mile trip without the slightest thing going wrong.. i must be doing something right.. he he

Better go on the course, save getting points on your licence, and having to pay the extra insurance premiums.
Mind you, the fine could be illegal if there are no warning signs as you say, go onto pepepo and see what they say.
