Hi Everyone ,

 

i am looking for a new tow car has anyone got a range rover sport 2007 plate a 2.7-9 diesel if so what mpg can i expect on Motorway i know around town isant much but hope to get 28mpg on a run any info appriciated

28mpg solo or towing? Solo possibly on a clear run with no traffic or traffic lights etc.

Towing, probably only if its all downhill with the wind pushing you and no traffic etc.

Probably wont be much less but it depends on the caravan shape and the airflow.

Hi not got the Range Rover Sport but a Disco 3 with same engine and box.

35 mph on motoway Derby to Liverpool nearly hit 36 lol, best i have ever got.

Towing 

19.5 mph Derby to Cumbria. on return 23 mph must be going down hill lol

25 mph Derby to Cleethorpes.

Around town 25  if your lucky .

it can get to 17 mph if you start hard with the right foot lol, then its new tyres

Dave, I just got rid of an older P38 diesel, had it for three years and used to get anywhere from 20mpg to 30mpg depending on around town or on a long run.

That was from the old 2.5l BMW engine. The 2.7l gives better power and fuel economy so I would expect you should get around 25mpg to 35mpg on the equivalent journeys.
