Just read an older posting about the sagging that occurs when hitched up. We have a 14 plate sportage and the towball is within legal recommended limits height wise however when the van is on it really drops resulting in a low at the front van. A bit worrying really. The noseweight is well within the 75 limits using a milenco nose weight. What results have people had by contacting the dealership about this problem please., excellent when towing incidentally. ,

Have you contacted your Kia dealer about this as I believe there was a recall related the Sportage rear suspension struts which could be part of your problem.
If you put a search into Google 'Kia Sportage Suspension Faults' then there are numerous websites about this.

We were behind one in the queue at Portsmouth ferry port. Sitting there with is ass on the floor. These cars are not built for towing that's clear to see, they are soft roaders and appear to handle a caravan nose weight worse than your average saloon car.

My next door neighbor had 13 plate Sportage and had the same problem even with the correct noseweight .
He jacked it in for a 14 plate Honda CRV with a 100kg limit on the nose and problem solved

Hi, I started a post on here about a year ago. I have had my 63 XRDI back to the dealers three times, had numerous conversations with Kia and tried to get the Caravan Club involved.
Kia deny that there us a problem, my dealer has examined the car and says the heights are within acceptable limits. I fitted donuts into the rear springs which helped a little with the height, but the ride was far too hard and bumpy so I removed them.
I think it depends on the individual car, they all have different ride heights" within the acceptable limits".
As a very crude measure , in the showroom on a new car I was able to get 4 fingers between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch, on my car it was 3. The dealer said it was the weight of the towbar on my car making the difference.I dont know why or how, but my oufit does not seem as low now as it was. I don't put really heavy stuff in the boot or front locker.I tow to Northern Spain twice a year with no problems ... except sometimes after hitching up I cant swing the jockey wheel round to lift it up.
If you have any further information please post details, you should also look on the kia owners forum.
You will get a few non constructive comments on here, just ignore them.

I read your posts on the caravan club site and on here, the car tows really well, good mpg and a stable ride, nose of van being so low is a concern though. We havent had this van long, no probs bringing it home from dealer and on a weekend trip out, didnt have a problem when we went down to Cornwall it was on the way back that we noticed how low it was sitting. Contacting the dealership today but dont expect great joy, will update this post as and when we hear anything.

We tow with a 2015 Sportage and have not noticed any problem with low suspension, in fact it seems to tow very well, we have just picked up a new van (4 berth Ecceles SE) and towed it to storage it was great. I think there were some upgrades on the 2015 Kia but not sure what they are.

Stronger suspension is one from the sound of it. Well overdue, whenever I see a caravan with its tail in the air there is nearly always a sportage in front. They must know they have a problem.
