know that if you put a motor mover on van it comes off payload ...but what a battery and spare wheel ...many thanks for info .....

Things that come as standard when the caravan leaves the factory is the MIRO which includes the spare wheel but not the battery so anything added as extra's comes off the payload. However, I think that new caravans have the gas cylinders included in the MIRO but this can be a bit misleading as some gas cylinders are half the weight of steel ones.

What figure do you have, Unladen weight or MIRO?

The MIRO is a bit confusing as the manufacturers seem a bit inconsistent. Does it include a battery and gas bottle? If so what size?

Then there is the issue that the van may actually weigh more when empty than the brochure shows. A few people have been shocked at how heavy their vans are before they even add the gas and battery etc.

According to the NCC a spare wheel isn't included in the MIRO as it is an optional extra.

Optional equipment
Items made available by the manufacturer or dealer over an above the standard specification of the caravan e.g. spare wheel, air conditioning, motor mover, awning etc.

MIRO is very confusing, not least because different manufacturers calculate it differently. One gas cylinder is certainly allowed, but best not include a battery. Spare wheel OK as long as it's standard kit.

Weight: 1454kg (MRO)with 2 7.5 gas, and spare wheel if fitted, 1610kg (MTPLM)
Bessie would have a field day and pull his hair out, re writing the spread sheets to get that to the correct weight

The only to know 100% is take it to a weighbridge, Every van produced will be slightly different. In my handbook it says + or - 5%. But there is a chance that your van is outside of those figures.

If you want to be 100% sure you need to weigh it.

Do you have the original paperwork with the details on what they classed as MIRO?

What size gas bottle, battery did they specify?

Deduct 40kg for the mover? 25kg for the spare if not included? Is teh gas bottle and battery bigger than the ones in the specs? What does yours weigh?
