Hi
I've got a 5 berth caravan with an end dinette that converts into a double with a single bunk above.
Anyway, I'm currently camping in the Netherlands and am due to travel home on Monday with a stop over that night in Folkestone. At the moment the beds are set up at the rear & I was wondering whether leaving them up whilst travelling on Monday would make the van less stable - I've seen the diagrams saying any loading at the bs I must be light & it occurs to me that leaving the bunk up would shift some of the weight at the back higher up
Or am I talking rubbish???
The weight of the beds are going to remain the same whether they are up or down so it doesn't make any difference providing you don't put any extra weight on top of the beds when travelling.
Hi, i wouldnt worry, assuming the bunk is against the back wall anyway when stowed, a little will be higher, but also nearer the centre, bedding surely not that heavy, you can aways move something towards the front to balance it out, as long as not overloaded in the first place! good luck
If yours is the same as ours, 'double dinette', as said, I wouldn't worry as long as you don't load the bunks, but 'work around' the bed that is set up.
