Thinking of the current 3.2 ltr DiD engine, I would be interested to hear of your towing experience particularly with a heavier weight van (1800 kgs ish) and the LWB Shogun........with an automatic gearbox.......with a five speed auto box and 197 bhp......any issues with having enough power on tap or is the gearbox always busy....ie forever changing up and down to maintain progress?.
Look forward to hearing comments.

Yes we do. Brilliant tow car but a bit heavy on fuel. 18mpg towing a 1800kg Adria Adora Thames which is also very wide 2.5m.
We went to Italy last year and went over the Col de Cenis on the way there and Col de Madeleine on return journey. You must google it!
Always had plenty of power, about 2000rpm at 60 mph on motorway.
Good tow all limit so no worries about nose weight.
Engine can be a bit gruff and suspension a bit crashy but then it costs a lot less than a Disco or Audi.
Really pleased with it overall.
Hi Bignose+Jo
I really appreciate your input, it looks like we will head for an SG4, this mod only comes in auto anyway.
This morning, MitsUk confirmed to me they have/will drop the manual option from the SG2.

I've got the auto too, a mk3 DiD though. So much power I think that you got to go easy at first or you think you may pull the hitch apart.
But I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have another.
As I said in another thread, for a 21st century car / truck, they RUST like hell! So many nooks and crannies where muck can get to and start the rusting, by the time you see it, it's near enough too late to stop and so all you can do is try and slow it down.
