I have never bought a new brand new out the wrapper caravan. I have been to shows though and thought this is perfect for someone looking to buy a new van. You get the chance to see most models from most manufacturers all under one roof.
If it was me, and I had a particular model in mind I would find out what deals are available before going to the show.
Good luck
Was at a dealer the other day and noticed huge discounts on 2015 vans. Came home and checked some web sites and there are some awesome deals on 2015 vans. It has got me thinking
We bought a new van from the show in October 2012, we were given a small discount, free ATC stability control, low rate finance and a 16inch tv. The package appeared a good deal for us at the time. After months of failures with the caravan and a total loss of confidence in it we decided to cut our losses and buy a different make/model.
We purchased a new 2015 van in September 2014 this was heavily discounted as the dealers were making way for the new models about to be released. We will always buy at the end of the season now, you get the same van for a lot less money.
Go to the show to look at caravans then buy from your local dealer. It will be cheaper in the long run, he will have to give you decent service because you are right on his doorstep. Usually a caravan has to be returned to selling dealer for warranty work.
We looked at all the vans at the show and there were lots of "Show Offers" We went to a dealer 2 months after the show and got exactly the same deal.
I do take the point though that last years models are by far the BEST deals.
When we ordered our caravan in March last year, the dealer showed us a list of caravans still on order from the manufacturers that were ordered at NEC. Just be aware....
