We have recently had the diff problem diagnosed, told its a major job to put right. After hubby has done his research it would seem that even after you replace it it will need doing again after around 22,000 miles. Hubby is now considering getting rid of it, I am more inclined to get the problem sorted as we really can't afford to swap it. Has anybody had any issues like this? ,if so what did it cost to put right?
Been told diff needs replacing, looks like its a fault on older sportages, something to do with the part that makes up the diff. What sort of money we talking?
We're on our 2nd diesel engined Sportage; the first a 56 plate, followed by an 09. Current one is up to 60000 miles and not had any issues with the differential.
Can you tell us what the problem is. is it noisey or giving drive problems, and is it the front or rear diff 22000 miles is nothing.
are you sure they are not talking about changing the Diff oil.
6 year service was a pricey one - it included changing oil in the differential if I remember correctly? Apparently it can easily be missed especially if using non-kia garage for servicing and does lead to premature failure of parts... Would have thought any part should do more than 22000 miles!
