You will need to come back with year for the mondeo and year / model for the pastiche. Our pastiche has an MTPLM of 1550kg the smaller ones are much less.
I tow an MTPLM 1500KG Abbey Expression 550 with my Mk3 2.2 TDCi. The Handbook states 1800Kg but I wouldn't want to go much more than I'm at now, but that's just me!
I see you a '59 reg Mk4. Assuming its the 175 BHP engine you have a Max towing weight of 1800Kg also, so it all depends on your kerbweight of 1613Kg(ish) versus the vans MTPLM
Not sure what weight the pastiche is but our coachman weight in a 1560kgs and we tow with the 2 ltr 140bhp mondeo (2011) wich weighs in at 1705kgs on a weigh bridge,If memory serves me right your car is a estate ?? if so thats 20 kgs heavier than the hatch
I tow a 1450kg van with a 2010 2.2tdci estate with no issues. Max towing weight according to the log book is 2000kg, but I would have thought that was definitely OTT

Cry currant mondeo is not an estate , it says it can tow up to 18 whatever .
But it doesn't tow my Bailey very well only if I carry everything in the car . Just normal things in the van . So I don't put clothes awning food. Etc. In the van .just the things like kitchen utensils water carriers and gas the thing that stay in there. This has been a big improvement ..
However I am looking to change caravans X thinking of a new pastiche or vision . If not may need to be another Bailey they are lighter.. Or downsize to a two berth .
Thank you for replies.
