You mean personal leasing deal where you go to main dealer, ie Ford & take out a personal leasing deal for 3yrs then after that hand back car or take option to buy it, mileage restricted to 8k pa, over that & you pay extra yes?
With Ford personal leasing you can fit towbar, others I don't know. Best bet is ring around the main dealers & ask them. Apparently 80% of private motorists acquire their cars this way so dealers must be clued up about this.
Bear in mind there can be end of lease charges if condition of vehicle is not to required standard. Read this. Also bear in mind some deals only allow 90days pa outside UK in case you are planning extended foreign trips.

We had a towcar on a 3year personal contract hire, a Volvo, arranged through a main dealer. Any options (factory or dealer fit) that we wanted from the list were paid for with the deposit. This included the towbar.
I could have removed the towbar before returning the car at the end of the contract, but didn't.

I would get the towbar fitted as part of the original agreement. If you fit it after you may find, if you wish to return the vehicle at the end of the agreement, that you have to remove it and make good any works done from fitting it, e.g. cutting of bumper, or you will be charged. Check the small print! I had to remove the handsfree kit from my wifes old car before it went back, even though we didn't want it as the new car had a built in one they would not accept it with it fitted.

Had several cars on pure contract hire.... ie. No balloon payment at end of term. The lease Co own the car...we just swap car every 3 years.
It depends on the lease Co. First 2 companies we used just let us fit what we wanted as long as I removed at the end. I could have had them as dealer options, but price was excessive, so just fitted them myself.
the 3rd car is with volvo finance, they told me that as the bumper had to be cut to fit, I have to leave on at end of term. I fitted it at outset.
Just waiting delivery of an audi q3 and I decided to have factory fit as it worked out the same price over the 3 yrs to do this or fit one myself...so just went for easy option.

We leased a land rover 110 from land rover. We had to get written authority to fit a towbar, purchase and get it fitted from a land rover dealer ( sharp intake of breath when given the price ) and then when we finished the lease. I removed it and the lease co then tried to penalise me for removing it myself as I had " caused damage " to the vehicle.......I had the vehicle checked by another land rover dealer and it came back with a clean bill of health. But they got me in the end as they charged me a cleaning fee ......because they said the rear load area required cleaning.......funny because the same dealer valeted it a week before we handed it back as a freeby beacuse we bought a vehicle from them and they did it while we waited for the radio/ cd to be upgraded in our new vehicle !!..so just check the small print on lease agreements.......especially the small print.
