Hi All, Broke down today and currently having injector trouble with our 2011 Grand Picasso e1.6hdi egs. We're Looking to change the car for something with increased towing capacity. The Road Tax on the Picasso is £110 and didn't really want to pay more than £130 tax. Having mobility issues We like the 'upright' driving position and easy access of the Picasso. Our Caravan is a Bailey Pursuit 550-4 with a MTPLM 1374kg
I know it's a big ask but any suggestions for a replacement tow car ?
After our GC4 Picasso similar to yours we had a 2.0 Galaxy auto. Very comfy and reliable, kerb weight of around 1750 kg with a max tow of 1800 kg. I have no idea what the road tax would be on a Galaxy but it's probably much the same as other 2.0 diesels that would do the job.
I also tried the C Max, higher seating position and the same engine and gearbox as the Galaxy but a shorter car.
The 1.6 Picasso is not capable of towing your van but a 2 litre version tows about 1500 kg so that would also do the job.
Rob
PS We've just ordered a Pursuit 550-4 which will hopefully arrive next month, we'll be towing with a 1.6 diesel Mokka, we'll let you know how we get on.

Hi, have you been towing with the Picasso? Your caravan looks like it's too heavy for your current car. Only pointing out in case you were thinking of buying another

Not a great match to be honest. But let us know how you get on.
