Hello
I'm so baffled with modern towbar electrics I have decided to play it safe and get a towbar fitted, on a Mitsu Grandis 2.0 Di-D. Can anyone recommend a reputable towbar fitter in South East, anywhere say 50 mile radius of London?
------------- Nico's short for Nicotine. Of French fags he's very keen.
Does he like nouvelle cuisine? No - the portions are too mean.
Would check out your local dealers also. Had a towbar fitted to my S-Max by a dealer, was cheaper than the local towbar fitter. Also ring around the dealers in your area. Found one who had an offer on that was significantly cheaper than other Ford dealers in the area.
Cheers
Dan

Yep, Mitsubishi dealers were my first point of call: for a detachable Bosal towball (necessary as I have rear parking sensors) the best I was quoted was £448 excluding fitting - yikes! - and they won't do the ISO 13-pin electrics I need, either. Their best electrics option was a generic twin-electrics conversion for an extra £62 excluding fitting.
So by my reckoning that comes to almost £700 inc fitting & VAT. Too much!
I've seen reasonable prices with ISO 13-pin, around £500, but that's for PF Jones in Manchester or Fenton, or Westfalia in Bristol...

If you are West London, give Brian a bell. Helped us in the past and reasonable cost as well

Also looking, different car, but PF Jones also come out and fit all over UK. Tried locally, but so far PF Jones are cheaper, Westfalia as Audi OEM for us.

I have a fixed tow bar with rear parking sensors doesn't interfere with them at all and cheaper than a detachable bar
True, clbewi, thanks. Your Sorrento has quite a high waistline at the back though, whereas the Grandis is quite low-slung by comparison. I think I'll play it safe and go detachable, unless I come across a Grandis owner that's had success with a fixed towbar.
Meanwhile, PF Jones have fitters all over, so with any luck I'll get towbar fitted for around £500 - the towbar I can fit easy, it's electrics I'm rubbish at...
I had my towbar fitted by GT Towing of Welham Green near Hatfield. I used to do that sort of thing myself, but its not so easy today with modern car electrics.
