I know there are several ways to go, but we don't want to go through Birmingham on the M6 (nor the M6 toll as it's a hassle to get on the M54 then. Nor through Kidderminster, so any ideas of the best alternative route(s(?) M1, M45,
A45, A46, A422 and then?
i live near bromyard. if i was driving from luton to bromyard i would:
M1 north, M6 west, M42 (southwest past NEC so not going over M6 at birmingham), stay on M42 until you reach the M5, M5 southwest to junction 7 worcester. then right at the island, then filter left at the next island (you will then be on the A4440) straight over next island, over next 3 islands. then pick up the A44 at the 4th island 3rd exit. follow the A44 until you reach Bromyard.
i stayed at the Bromyard CC site for my first caravan outing. very friendly wardens and very peaceful location.
enjoy your stay!

Thanks, yes, that is an alternative. As usual, I did not make myself clear, I think that Bromyard is easy enough but returning from Leintwardine may be more of a challenge, unless we come back the same way of course.
We wouldn't be staying at the CC site btw, but at one of the CLs in the area.
We stay on a site just East of lentwardine. Your might be best going from m5 to Leominster then up the back road past Wigmore. This last bit of the journey takes forever - almost double your time though as it's a windey road. For a more straight drive go up m6 (could check cameras for queues)
M6 - M54 - shrewsbury - a49 south then turn right at Bromfield to lentwardine.
