Has anybody underseal ed a suzuki vitara, does anyone think it nessesary with it being a 4x4, might do mine but it is messy antit

Underseal may trap moisture against the metal ensuring it rusts sooner but unseen.

If not undersealed it will dry out naturally or as you drive as long as its not rainging of course.

A modern car will have sufficient rustproofing. If you want to do an older car it needs to be waxoyled & injected into box sections. As pointed out painted on black underseal traps water underneath & panel will rot out underneath.

I have mine done every 3 years by a guy in Ashbourne, he has it for about a week when he does it.
Steamed off, dryed, and then waxed inside chassis and out.

Must be made with the cheapest of quality metals, and when manufactured, they apply nowt after the 'thin' paint!

As for under seal?? I wouldn't. As said, it's not what you keep out - it's what you keep / trap in.

Unless, you go for the whole 'Dinitrol' treatment...

Pressure wash and then leave to dry FULLY, apply a rust stopper, then you apply the final proofing coat.

Dinitrol is more a wax cover than a 'paint' too, and if you 'chip' it, they say it'll 'creep' into the damage and 'self repair'...

I thought Shogun's did but Pajero's didnt because they do not salt the roads in Japan?

They dont underseal or add extra protection from the elements in Japan. Does thats still apply?

If my Shogun did have any protection, it didn't last / work, and it's long gone.

Don't know anything about the salting roads in Japan and not protecting their Pajeros though...?
