Hi I am new to caravaning never towed b4 looked at a a few different cars for towing a Swift Challenger 4800 with a fully loaded weight of 1387 kg.I seem to get different kerb-weights for the same car and am a bit confused so could anyone suggest a suitable match. Thanks for any help and comments.

Hi thanks for the replies yes I do mean Challenger 480 sorry. Looking to spend 8 to 10k looking at Passat estate but seems a bit long, possibly the Octavia or Honda CRV all comments welcome.

Octavia's may be a bit too light unless you get a 4x4 variant or Scout. My 2012 Octavia estate 2.0TDi 4x4 has a mass in service of 1,495kg so giving you a tow ratio of 93%.Standard Octavia's are around 90/100kg lighter. It also has a GVW of 2,095kg so you will be under 3,500kg (3,482kg) and OK with a 'B' driving licence.
You could also look at the Skoda Yeti or even the Superb.
