Hiya all so today we have brought our first caravan we was going for a tec but instead we have gone for a compass reflection it comes with a stabliser could some one point me in the right direction of a twin electric tow bar, we don't need fitting price as a friend of ours can fit them just need to find one my car is a vw golf 1.9 tdi 2007
If your friend does not know what what twin electrics are then will he be competant to fit them? You need a towbar. To help him I suggest you go for dedicated plug in loom. More expensive but easier to fit.
If your caravan is older than 2009 it will have twin plugs so you need 12n/12s dedicated loom for your car. If it's newer it will have 13pin plug. So put in 13pin dedicated loom for you car into ebay search.
Or covert your caravan to 13plug then you can go for the more modern 13pin on your car.
Oh good that makes no sense to me haha! I'll just give him the money and tell him to sort it haha yeah he knows what he's doing hes fitted loads for people before just fitted our friends for their caravan last week

the dedicated loom on a golf needs dealer to plug in computer to tell it has a tow bar, most dealers won't touch a diy electrics fitment, better to use by pass relay.

Just don`t let them near your car!
Why not?
Several members of our internet car club have used them to fit and have had no problems at all. In fact in one instance they had to come out and correct the work done by another company and were the only mobile fitters who could reprogramme the ECU.

This company fitted my towbar which I found to be reasonably priced plus they also dispatch across the UK for DIY fitting too.

Anyone with the correct VCDS leads can reprogramme the car; it does not need to be a dealer.
