No amount of mirrors will stop speeding idiots in Mercs but I would suggest you get a set of Milenco Aero towing mirrors & you should find a vast improvement over your suck it & sees.

Yes, you can clamp them the mirrors on the bottom edge especially if the top edge is somewhat curved to a degree that it makes the mirrors awkward to clamp on. Just make sure that the two clamps are as far away as possible to eliminate any vibration.

Another vote of Milenco Aero mirrors. I have to attach mine to the top because the mirrors fold in automatically, attaching at the bottom would mean they would not close.
I leave the car mirrors in exactly the same position as when solo as it means I am still familiar with what they are showing. Some people adjust to show blind spot/caravan tyres. Only towed with convex mirrors and they seem fine for what I need.

I have the grand Aeros and attach them to the bottom of the mirror. I used them for the first time last week although they were good they still vibrate like any other mirror I've used.

I like big mirrors on vehicles these days, so on top of the big Shogun mirrors makes visibility even better...

They vibrate because you haven't got them set up right. I have been on two previous rallies over the past years and both caravanners said they were a waste of money because they are no different to any other mirror. I reset them up for them with the two clamps being further apart and Hey Presto! vibration eliminated.
