Peugeot? (Had other models in the past) - It's French! And covered in sensors, so the slightest problem it'll go into 'limp' mode.
BMW? No comment...
Mitsubishi? I got a Shogun ATM and they RUST!!!!
She's got the Outlander PHEV too as a lease car. Nice but 'feels' cheaply built for the money.
She had an ASX as a courtesy car when hers was in for it's service 2 weeks ago, it was 'OK' she said.
Nissan? Many reports round here of failing parts - even on brand new, that are having to be recalled under warranty.
Heard of other that don't like the boot access as they're just an X-Trail (better boot access) chassis with a different body over the top. So if you're a camper, maybe consider this...?
And as for Hyundai? Same as Kia aren't they - or near enough? F & MIL has a Sorento, and they like theirs. Good report on them here too.
Not a prayer of buying an automatic ASX for £12k unless it has a very very high mileage. A 5 year old manual ASX 4WD goes for £12k (was £21k new), and the auto version didn't come out until a couple of years ago, its 4wd.

I think the high 2nd hand value says it all!
Might consider a manual ASX providing the clutch and gearbox are light in action.
Indeed l too love my CRV, but l also love my daughters new Toyota Verso, smooth riding nippy car with bags of space for 5 passengers, and the option of carrying 7 on occasions where needed.
Build quality is superb, the interior is better finished and more luxurious than my CRV, but l just need the extra power to tow my caravan, otherwise l would be tempted to buy one myself.

We had a Quashqai as my hubbies company car, had it 3 years and it did 140000 miles with no problems.
Until he needed a new windscreen 4 weeks before it was due to be changed, the guy that came to do it was trying his best to come up with excuses not to.Long story short, it never fit properly and had gaps round the edges, this meant water got in, we used a bucket to bail out after one heavy shower! this sent the electrics mental and it would mean the headlights would stay on, or the dashboard lights stayed on all night.
