Complete newbie here.
I have a 2010, 1.8 TDCi Mondeo saloon and would like to know what the maximum weight of caravan I can tow is. I passed my test in 1995.

since you passed your test in 95 you are not restricted to 3500kg however for a suitable match for your car you need to find out the Mondeos kerbweight (unladen weight) and aim for a caravan that when fully loaded weighs approx. 85% of your cars kerbweight .
