Please can you give me some advise on weight of my outfit. More specifically I want to try and carry 5 bikes on this rig. I have been looking at MaxxRaxx tow bar cycle rack http://www.maxxraxx.co.uk/bike_racks_car_cycle_carriers_products/info_prem_max5_flange.html But not sure if I can
1 Take 5 bike with me full stop
2 put a bike rack on the tow bar
3 put some bikes on the tow bar and some on the roof
4 all on the roof
Thanks in advance

Agree with Opensauce, we use a Thule Cantilever Rack and carry two bikes with no hassle of lifting them, just use one finger if need be to raise then onto the roof. I can only suggest two/three on the roof and the other two inside the van over the axle
I expect that 5 bikes and the rack would exceed the nose weight allowance of the car. The rack can take a maximum weight of 80 kg so how much do your 5 bikes weigh? I would be looking at a roof system but check the roof loading as well.
