Does anybody tow there caravan with a ford transit due to work commitments I might have to change from car to van and would like to hear anybody's thoughts.
As long as the sites that you visit allows them, then no problem.
I have been to one in London where commercials have to be left in an outer public carpark which didnt look very secure. Rather poorly lit and the type of place where undesirables hang around.
I agree with Grampian91. The biggest problem that you may have is that a great many sites will not accept commercial vehicles, even if un-signwritten. Some sites won't even allow you on site if you arrive with a van or truck as a tow vehicle.
Having said that, we did used to tow a caravan with a VW van, but it did have windows in the sides, and it was in the 1980s. Back then we had no problems at all.
Transits are great, just keep some decent weight on rear axle in van. BUT the big advantage is you can put your pruck in the van and not the caravan, so will be FAR more stable.
OH and get a MErc Sprinter next time if you can they are just the dogs nadgers.
