bit of a waist of time on newer vehicles, you can get heavy duty springs, these are an easy to swap over if you have the tools
As our car is only 2 years old I did wonder.
Thanks
Hoping to correct a towing problem with our last car - I fitted the extra springs inside the original springs - it raised the back of the car about 5cm. Not sure it did any good as there was another problem that I was unaware of - only after we had a further MOT was it spotted - we swapped the car after that.
If you are thinking about the rubber inserts - I believe they are a waste of time and they reduce the spring capacity making it a bumpy ride.
Looked at the mad springs but,in the end I paid £15 for the coil spring assisters from Towsure, there are four different sizes so need to measure the gap while the car is jacked up and the springs relaxed, they have raised the car by about 5cms and have prevented the springs from bottoming out, towing for the first time this weekend so will reserve judgement till then
We had an 11 plate Santa Fe and the rear suspension really sagged with the van connected. After fitting a set of MAD spring assistors the suspension remained much higher with and without the van and we had no further problems with hitching up the caravan. Well worth the money and relatively easy to fit.
