I am thinking of changing my Land Rover D2, would like to get a Volvo XC60 or XC90. Would appreciate advice from anyone who has experience of towing with either cars. I note the XC90 has self leveling suspension, will I need to improve the shock absorbers on the XC60.

It may help people to answer your question if they knew what you intend to tow.
An XC60 may be fine for a medium weight van, but no good for towing a very heavy twin axle caravan.
The XC90 may be larger than you need.

My Xc60 is a great towcar.

Mine is a 2015 D5 Auto.

I tow 1500Kg with ease, would be happy to go heavier.

With 90 Kg noseweight and a loaded boot I have felt no need to upgrade the suspension.

We Caravan a lot in all weathers, the Xc 60 has done everything I have asked of it without fuss.
