Hello,

I have just bought a new Seat Alhambra and had the tow bar fitted as extra.The garage here in Switzerland are unable however to fit the extra hook I require to attach the car to the trailer with the security wire. I do not know the name in English, but in German it's a               'Halter für abreissseil'
Any ideas of the best one to buy?

Just wrap it around the tow ball, feed it around it and clip it onto the wire, so it becomes a loop

Don't think this type (which I imagine you would be able to source locally) would be suitable for a towbar with a detachable swan-neck towball, but should be OK otherwise (using one of the existing bolts)?

There's a very recent thread here discussing the legality of wrapping the breakaway cable around the towball.
