Anybody got any experience of towing with a Ssangyong Korando. I'm thinking of getting one and wondered what people thought of them as a tow car.

We've bought one this year to tow our caravan with and it is excellent. We are very pleased with it and had no problems at all driving down with our caravan to Cornwall recently. They also have some nice features inside such as heated seats, etc.! (not that we needed them). One quite useful gadget is a built in tyre pressure monitor which is quite reassuring when towing, etc.

All new cars have to have TPMS by law now.
Heated seats have been around since the early 70s, I believe SAAB were the first to fit them.

I recently bought a Korando and the handbook says not to tow a trailer for the first 500 miles. I gather that virtually all cars come with a similar instruction but many choose to ignore it with no problem. Fortunately I'll have no problem hanging on until I've done the miles. My first impression of the car is that you won't be disappointed.

Just remembered something that might be of interest, if you are a member of caravan club Ssanyong will fit a tow bar free of charge - saving over £500. Sorry didn't think about this earlier!

I too test drove a used 2.0 one last year and liked it very much. What sort of MPG are you guys getting both when towing and when not?

I've only done 600 miles and not towed. I've filled up twice and calculated 42 mpg accurately. That's a mix of running with only one motorway journey. I think over time it should get 45 on average.

It's a good car with no major disappointments yet.

One annoyance was my free Caravan Club towbar - great saving but they fitted a standard towball without asking so I had to change it for an extended one for the Alko hitch. Can't complain really when saving £500 or so.

Also it's attracting attention. I've had strangers ask what it is and say how good a car it looks.

Very interested to see this - I've been looking at the Korando, but was put off a bit by the write up in the tow car of the year tests published last month. Good to see real life experiences are more positive.

i am on my second Korando LE, i have towed to south of france without any issue twice
Its a little bit noisey to start but once warm it settles down. plenty of standard equipment (cruise control,heated seats,auto air con,etc). I am getting 30mpg towing with bailey unicorn valencia fully laden.45mpg normal driving
I think its great value for money and free towbar helps too
