help going to see 2009 xtrail automatic tekna 150bhp tomorrow we have an eldiss xplore 540 will this car be good or bad never had an automatic before

Whats the towing limit and at what weight point do they recommend an additional cooler (assuming its a fluid auto and not a CVT or similar)

A quick search and it seems the 540 is heavier than the max tow on the auto. 1350kg max tow?

Seems the auto is lacking compared to the manual.

Pretty sure the Auto has a considerably lower towing limit than the manual.
I have a manual XTrail and it tows great.

I seem to remember that to be the case also with the X Trail, the Auto has a lower tow rate than the manual. So make sure you check that out.

However, do not be put off from a SUITABLE Auto towcar, it will be better than a manual for towing any day. I know this will be debated everywhere, but ask any expert or experienced tower, Auto is the way to go.

On a personal point of view, please make sure whatever you choose is suitable with some to spare. Good luck. 👍

I agree, I have towed with auto & manual - give me an auto anyday.

I wouldn't tow any more with a manual box, but I deffo wouldn't touch the Nissan CVT box with a bargepole. It really is awful.

I did not want tell you that...........But quite frankly Hairywol is not incorrect. It would not be on my list as a tow car.....Sorry.
