If you are thinking of buying new then why not pop into a local Ford dealer and pick up a brochure which will have all the specifications for various models. That way you obtain all the accurate figures of each model and engine variations etc.

If you are thinking of buying new, Ford are bringing out a new model very soon so it might be better to wait there are some old model with extras on, so a deal on these might work out better than a new model.

I also have a titanium x and the weights in the brochure are replicated on the vin plate. If there was a debate with the powers that be wouldn't they refer to the weighs on the plate rather than the actual weight of the car? (I don't know either way but would be interested in an authorititive reply)

Kevin the car has a very heavy tow weight but a light kerbweight ( brochure) I weigh all my cars so I know exactly what I'm playing with, I also post the weight to help others.
The difference between published and actual could me the difference between buying your dream van or putting up with a lesser model

If it helps Steve, I have a 2016 model Ford Kuga Titanium X 2.0 TDI 180bhp Powershift Auto, 4x4. And have put over a 1000 towing miles on it already.

I tow about 1350kg, and can honestly say it has been the best tow car I have had. I will change it in two yeas time, and may get something different purely because I am fickle with cars. But I would not hesitate to recommend what I currently have as a tow car, it is fantastic.

The Powershift auto is also very good, no more manuals for me. Auto any day.

As a side issue, I had reason to hire a car recently for a trip to London from Devon, it was a Jaguar XF 2.0. Not in the same league as my Kuga for ride, comfort or performance, in fact it was quite horrible to drive, give me a Mondeo as a similar saloon car any day.

Good luck with your towcar. 👍
