We currently own the above vehicle and are not in a position to change this, the car has a kerb weight of 1500kg which gives us an 85% guide of 1275kg, 125bhp (allegedly). We are looking at folding campers and standard caravans up to about 1000kg mlw.
Does anyone have any advice with regard to what the towing capabilities of our car are in the real world, obviously I'm not expecting super car performance, it's just that previous cars such as Xsara Picasso diesel, Mondeo 1.8 diesel, Focus Estate 1.8 diesel, have always seemed a little flat when towing, apart from when we owned a trailer tent. We did use a 300bhp ex-police Volvo T5 that we owned for a year or so but fuel consumption averaged around 12mpg when towing.
