a friend as bought a 08 plate range rover discovery 3 is their a storage place for the removable tow ball as he cannot find it thanks malc.

If it is a Discovery 3 it is in the compartment on the left hand side of the boot area. Mind you don't knock the fuses when you take it out !

Our is a detachable one as well, Vauxhall insignia, no designated storage space, guess who packed the awning, boots,dive gear on top at home, when we got to the van I was not popular

Left hand side where the fuse box is. Just be carfull how you put it in.
If i was you i would change it for a fixed tow bar.
