We're hoping to collect our first caravan soon, pending engineer's report.
We'll be using a 2004 Volvo V70 to tow. I keep seeing Milenco Aero's recommended as mirrors. The auto-folding car mirror issue won't pose a problem, as they don't auto-fold on our model anyway, but I'll welcome any comments on how well anyone's found these Milenco mirrors on such a car, or has other recommendations.
The intended caravan's a 2000 Rapido, so not huge at just over 2m wide ( I think 2.30 from memory), but still well worth having extra mirrors for.

I use a pair similar to these on my V70, although mine is an earlier (1999/2000) model. The only difference is that mine are the flat-glass ones. Same make though;

I have heard much criticism of these strap-on mirrors, but I have been using mine for the past 3 years without any problems whatsoever. One of the advantages I find with them is that because they use rubber straps to hold them on, there is little or no risk of them damaging the mirror. I haven't examined the screw-on type like Millenco, but I am wary that they could cause damage to the paintwork.

I'm obviously still in the dark on these things, but it occurred to me to wonder whether the screw-on sort risked damage.

Any other points of view out there?

I use a pair of Reich Mirrors on my V70 and they are very good

I have used the Millenco screw on type on my previous V70 and now on my XC60, no probs whatsoever.

I too use strap on type mirrors and have done for well in excess of 15 years with no bother. The straps are easily replaceable and widely available. Had them on a Volvo, BMW, Merc and several Audis without any damage to the mirror housings or bodywork

I'm sure that the door mirrors on a V70 are the same as my V50 and I have been using the clamp on Milenco Grand Aero mirrors for several years now without any problems. There are rubber feet on the screw clamps that clamp to the plastic mirror housing so they don't damaged. I have previously used two different makes of towing mirrors but find that the Milenco are the best.
