I'm considering driver guardian breakdown cover as they will give good cover for both our cars and caravan cover for £110. Anyone any experience of them.
Depends if you want cover if the caravan breaks down. It doesnt mention that.
I have the RAC arrival package for slightly more than your figure. I am covered whether the car or caravan breaks down.
If either breakdown, they will take me to the campsite and the car to a garage. If it cannot be fixed in time they will also take me home and put the caravan in storage on the way.
The Guardian cover doesnt include any of that. I doubt it even covers the caravan breaking down.

"Exclusions
Applying to all sections unless otherwise stated:
This insurance does not cover the following: -
1.
a)
Any caravan/trailer where the total length exceeds 7 metres (not including the length of the
A-frame and hitch) and where it is not attached to the Vehicle with a standard towing hitch.
b)
Breakdowns or Accidents to the caravan or trailer itself."
...and cover for recovery of caravan/trailer appears to cost an additional £10?
Hi Navva
I have been using driver guardian for the past year or so
Unable to comment on how good they are if I break down, because as yet I have had no need to call them.
But all of my communication with them has been excellent - changed my car recently and asked them to update the details, etc and got a really speedy response and confirmation of new vehicle details, etc
I am quite confident that they will deliver if and when I really need them
It's a bad idea to buy breakdown insurance on price alone. Stick with the large providers that are big enough to sue if they fail to deliver. One does need to read t&c's very carefully & also contact the provider by phone during office hours so you can speak to somebody who knows what they are talking about. Question them closely about all aspects of their cover.

Maybe not if you breakdown with the caravan attached. Not much cheaper then a far superior package from the RAC or Green Flag. With the Club deals they will take you to the campsite and take the car elsewhere if required and even take you home via the storage if required.

I have had cover with RAC and AA - and to be honest not worth the premium - shocking service from the RAC when I had to call them out
We will only find out how good any cover is when we have to call upon them - that includes the established providers.
After all is said and done it's an insurance based product - you pay your money and you take your choice
It is not always the case that the more you pay the more you get
