Hi all
I have a 2007 Hobby 500 kmfe which has been sited for the last 5 years. When we were last touring we pulled with a disco so no problem there.
We are going touring again but the current motor is a 2003 Vauxhall Omega 2.2 CDX automatic petrol.
I was assuming the match would be ok but we all know the risks of making assumptions, so can anybody advise Asti the suitability or otherwise of this match.
Thanks
We need to know the MTPLM for the caravan and the kerbweight, max towing weight and gross train weight for the car to work it out. Come back with the figures and we'll be able to give some proper advice.
As far as I can recall caravan weighs about 1450kg all up & Omega is well able to tow that weight. If op is unable to correlate car/caravan weights himself then he with have to go with my recollection & assume it is reliable.
I think your figures are about right Opensauce as I think the Omega was around 1550/1600kg kerbweight so as long as the auto version does not have a very low towing weight it should be ok. If the op can check the weights on his outfit we can be sure of things rather than assuming it will be alright.
