Just bought me a Saab 2.2 tid automatic 54 reg with 145000 on the clock,Its an estate with full service history what a machine. Not planning to tow with it,just bought it as a run around and for me to get my mobility scooter in it.
Just want to know of others who have a Saab or who have owned one and what to look out for
Had a Saab 900 when the kids were young, towing a Creighton Binns TT. Lovely motor; DD slept all the way to the Vaucluse. Eventually had it nicked from outside the house - towed away by disreputables, I assume for re-plating. Easy to work on - did a head gasket change just before going on holiday!
Hi Jeff,
My son has a duel fuel manual Saab and it is a very nice car.
Really nice finish to it and I have heard no complaints from him.
Extremely comfortable too.
Regards,
Greg
Son has one, now his 2nd 9.3 top of the range 55 plate less than a grand.
He kept the old one for a while and used it as a donor for parts before scrapping it and getting £200. That one cost £600 and he did 60,000 miles in it.
They do seem to do high mileages, are very comfortable, economical, reliable, cheap to repair.
Very heavily modified GM chassis.
Had a 2000 9-3 2.2 diesel. Was really good comfortable cruiser and still plenty of power when I sold it with 185k on the clock. Only problems were the computer display (but they can be repaired cheaply) and having to change injection hoses every 6 months (diy job).
Not slow and easy for 48mpg+
I have had 6 from 99 900 and 9000s I currently have a 93 diesel convertible (07)which I have owned for 7 years. We love it.They are well made.Spares are readily available although some parts for older ones can be sparce.
I can recommend www.uksaabs.co.uk for friendly help and advice.
