As far as I can remember your car has a max tow of 1000 kg and a kerb weight of 1505 kg so your car is not able to tow a caravan which is 85% of the kerb weight.

The caravan you have has a max weight of 950 Kg so this would be a 63% match to your car. You can not tow a caravan which weighs 85% of the car kerb weight, you have to work with the max tow weight of 1000 kg and forget about the 85% guideline on this occasion.

In a previous post you said your caravan had a payload of 165 kg so you can load 165 kg in to the caravan to make a maximum weight of 950 kg. This 165 kg includes battery, gas bottle, water containers, awning, bedding etc, everything that you load must not put the caravan over the max weight of 950 kg.

You can load your car up to the max weight shown on the weight plate. It is up to you to decide what to put in the car and what to put in the caravan but obviously you can not exceed the max weights of the car or caravan.

When we load a caravan for the first time we weigh everything to make sure we do not go over the weight limit.

So let me get my head around this!! If I load my caravan to its max weight which is 950kg and my car to its max weight which is 2090 kg,which is 3040 kg in total.am legal? And also what percentage does this work out?

Also because I passed my test afther 1997 the fully laden weight of the caravan(950kg) can't be more than the kerb weight of the car (1500kg) of which am towing with.is this correct and if so is that formula above ok?

You don't load anything to max weight in practise though. Just load your normal amount of gear in caravan & car. That's it. If you are carrying nothing abnormal then you will not come anywhere near to being overloaded.

If you can't understand that then trust me. From the information you have posted across all your threads on this subject you are ok to tow the caravan.

Yes this would be a legal outfit. The caravan is under the max allowed for your car (1000 kg) and the gross train weight (max weights of car and caravan added together) is less than 3500 kg. This was clarified for you last week in one of your other threads. This caravan is a 63% match as I stated last night, your car is not permitted to tow a caravan that is 85% of the kerb weight.
