Hi, is anyone using a Ford Tourneo Connect auto as a tow car. How does it perform we have a Lunar Ariva just under 960kg

Whats the max tow weight on your logbook (V5C)?

Depending on which bix they fitted, some of those auto boxes are not that strong and may lower the towing limit quite a bit.

hi, the ford dealer says it can tow 1200 with the auto engine
but I really would like to know how in real driving conditions how it performs before I buy a one

What does the logbook (V5C) say though?

If its 1200 where the manual box is rated much higher then you know the auto in that model is a weak point.

Sub 1000kg should be OK though as long as the dealer gave you the right figures. Someone the other auto boxes are 1000kg max and on a hilly route the boxes tend to get hotter than you would want for reliability.

What engine? size and power output? What year also?

Not many Connnect about which explains lack of responses. Auto box is DSG not old type teorque converter so will tow better than a manual. If it has 1.6 diesel 100bhp then same engine as Berlingo in similar style body which I can confirm tows my 900kg caravan with power to spare. Manual box in mine. DSG box is manual box with 2 clutches & electronic gearshift so no comparison to old type auto.
